Butter a 9×13 casserole dish. Layer: pierogies, sausage, sauce, cheese. Cover and bake 25 to 30 minutes.. Cook on high for about 3 hours, or on low for 4 to 5 hours. Do not stir. Add any additional ingredients on top of or in place of the onion layer. Try sliced sausage, chicken breast cubes, diced ham, bacon, frozen broccoli, garlic or any combination of meats, vegetables, herbs and spices you like.
