Entirely made of plywood, the Crisis Chair is an original design by Piet Hein Eek. Since plywood is not strong enough to make long thin legs, large pieces of this material make up the sides. These large surfaces give the Crisis low armchair its own unique character; allowing for the possibility to work with bold colors.. The Crisis collection owes its name to the first crisis Piet experienced as an established company and which lasted from 2001 until 2002. It turned out to be an insignificant one and, like many others, his company wasn’t affected. So they bought a computer-operated milling cutter. The first products they made with this
